永旺信贷紫盟青年联赛完美落幕 加影联摘冠

(赛城讯)永旺信贷紫盟青年联赛冠军诞生,加影联以176比122、在取得更多分数优势下压倒亚依淡登顶。

 

为加影联打头阵的混双Chua Jin Yang与迪丽瓦沙哈,在亚依淡对手弃权下不战而胜,为本队先拔头筹。

 

尽管如此,男单Tan Wei Liang以11比10、11比10和11比6直落三局击退阿米鲁英兰,为亚依淡扳回一城。

 

亚依淡再接再厉,状态正佳的Oo Shan Zi在女单先衰后盛,以6比11、11比9、11比6和11比10力克Lee Yu Shan。

AEON CREDIT PURPLE LEAGUE JUNIOR 2021/2022 REACHED A SPECTACULAR FINISH AS KAJANG UNITED BC ARE CROWNED CHAMPIONS.

CYBERJAYA (20 FEBRUARY 2022): Kajang United BC players hit purple patch and clinched the AEON Credit Purple League Junior 2021/2022 (ACPLJ) title by securing the most points overall (176-122) during the grand finale of the tournament today in Cyberjaya.

 

Kajang United BC’s mixed doubles pair of Chua Jin Yang – Dylyvya Saha did not have to lift their rackets in the first game after being awarded a walkover by Ayer Hitam BC.

 

Ayer Hitam BC however, pegged Kajang United BC back when Tan Wei Liang downed Amirul Imran (11-10, 11-10, 11-6) in the boys singles.

 

In the girls singles, an in-form Oo Shan Zi from Ayer Hitam BC pulled out all the stops and notched a (6-11, 11-9, 11-6, 11-10) over Kajang United BC’s Lee Yu Shan.

 

The scratch combination of Chong Jenson – Ooi Yi Hern continued Ayer Hitam BC’s winning momentum as they toppled Kajang United BC’s Goh Yi Qin – Wong Zhi Kang (7-11, 10-11, 11-10, 11-8, 11-8).

 

However, lady luck was on Kajang United BC side as they earned another walkover when Ayer Hitam pulled out of the final game.

 

Kajang United BC’s head coach Fung Seng was ecstatic with his team’s performance and glad that their hard work has paid off. According to Fung Seng “We have been preparing for this tournament since last year and I am glad that the players have shown resilience despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. They have been training hard and I can see how much this win means to them”.

 

He added “I would also like to express my gratitude towards the Malaysia Purple League (MPL) for organising this tournament as it allows young shuttlers in our country to sharpen their skills. We hope that more competitive platforms like the ACPLJ will be organised in the future”

 

On the other hand, sharing the honours with Kajang United BC was Perling BC who made short work of Butterworth BC (10-7) to clinch the Under 15 title.

 

Malaysia Purple League (MPL)’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), Ho Khek Mong who was present at the venue commended all the finalists. He said “I would like to congratulate all players who participated today. They have indeed raised the bar for future Malaysia Purple League competitions”

 

He added “I would also like to thank all teams for participating in this year’s edition of the tournament and growing together with the Malaysia Purple League”

 

A total of 38 teams participated in the AEON Credit Purple League Junior 2021/2022 this year and the grand finale was held today at the House of Champions, Gem in Mall in Cyberjaya.

DAZZLING ARRAY OF YOUNG TALENTS SET TO CLASH AT THE AEON CREDIT PURPLE LEAGUE JUNIOR 2021/2022 GRAND FINALS

CYBERJAYA (18 FEBRUARY 2022): Pressure is mounting in their respective camps as teams make their final preparations for the AEON Credit Purple League Junior 2021/2022 (ACPLJ) Grand Finals which is schedule to take place this weekend.

 

The draw was hosted at the Malaysia Purple League (MPL) headquarters in Kuala Lumpur last week with team managers joining the proceedings remotely.

 

The result of the draw saw 4 teams receiving a favourable draw and automatically qualifying for the quarterfinals of the final leg while the remaining 8 teams will battle it out in the first round to meet the 4 teams in quarterfinals.

 

Among the favourites of the tournament are Kajang United BC who will meet either Ampang Jaya BC or Rawang BC in the quarterfinals after smashing aside title contenders Jinjang BC and Sentul Times BC, 15-1 and 15-0 respectively in the U-18 category during the 3rd leg in Cheras last month. However, Kajang United BC’s team manager Wong Heng Wai has played down the hype surrounding his team.

He said “ First and foremost, I would prefer not to be too overconfident , as I believe that we were lucky to win our expected games throughout this campaign”

He added “I have huge respect to all the teams that will be participating in the upcoming grand finals as they have been consistent in their performance throughout this prestigious tournament. We are ready to do our best and we hope to clinch the title this coming weekend”

 

Malaysia Purple League’s (MPL) Chief Operating Officer, Ho Khek Mong, who was present at the draw conveyed his best wishes to all finalists and is looking forward to a fiery conclusion of the tournament this weekend. He said, “I would like to congratulate all of the young shuttlers who have made it to the grand finals.”

 

He added “They have shown consistency in their game, and I am thrilled to see some of the best talents in our country coming together at the grand finals of this year’s edition of the tournament.”

 

With the draw finalised last week, the champions of the ACPLJ 2021/2022 will be determined this weekend as all the teams battle it out from the 19th to 20th February at the House of Champions, Gem in Mall in Cyberjaya.

Kajang United strong showing in the Under – 18 category (Group B) secured their qualification to the grand finals with (516-263) accumulated points.

Ayer Itam BC maintains 100% record (Table toppers qualified to 2021/2022 ACPLPJ grand finals)

KAMPAR (16 JANUARY 2022): Ayer Itam Badminton Club have made heads turn when both their Under-15 and 18 teams advanced to the 2021/2022 AEON Credit Purple League Junior (ACPLPJ) grand finals scheduled for next month.

 

The Northern club side celebrated their entry to the grand finals in style by emerging top in both the age-group categories during the two-day final qualifying rounds of the competition held at the Sixbase Sport Arena here in Kampar.

 

The final qualifying round of the competition saw another eight teams (four from the Under-15 and four from the Under-18) advance to the grand finals.

 

Stalwart Oo Shan Zi was the toast in Ayer Itam BC’s strong finish in the Under-15 competition when she defeated all her opponents in the girl’s doubles & mixed doubles event.

 

Ayer Itam BC’s coach, Tan Yi Han commended Shan Zi’s strong showing in the competition. “Shan Zi has been exceptional for our team throughout these qualifying stages and I’m happy that she has contributed the most points for us.”

 

The fiery 2nd leg tournament witnessed Ayer Itam BC easily cruise past rivals PGBC (15-3) in their opening fixture. Their impressive run was followed with two emphatic victories over Sungai Pinang BC (14-4) and Setia Alam BC (15-1).

 

Ayer Itam BC strong showing in the Under-15 age group saw them saw top the standings with (556-317) accumulated points.

 

PGBC’s hard hitting performance assured them of a place in next month’s ACPLPJ grand finals by qualifying as runners-up after a decisive victory over neighbour’s Sungai Pinang BC (12-6).

 

PGBC team owner Ong Ewe Hock was satisfied with his team’s good run and the hard work put in by the players. However, he remained modest and said, “I would prefer not to be overconfident, as I believe that we still have a long way to go.”

 

Ewe Hock added “I have huge respect for the participating teams as they all have been consistent in their performance throughout these qualifying rounds. We will rest well and regain our strength for the upcoming grand finals.”

 

On the other hand, Ayer Itam BC will be accompanied by Bagan BC from Group A as they finished their qualifying campaign as runners-up in the under 18 category. Bagan BC completed their qualifying campaign by overcoming arch-rivals Penang Pesta (15-2) in a decisive match.

 

Completing the top four teams for the under-18 category are Group B champions Butterworth BC as well as Falim BC who progressed after grabbing a crucial victory in their respective match against Raja Uda BC with a result of (9-8).

The ACPLJ 2021/2022 will reach its climax when all the teams clash during the grand finals from Feb 19-20. The venue for the grand finals has yet to be confirmed.

BUTTERWORTH BC, IPOH BC, AYER ITAM BC & SETIA ALAM BC START OFF THEIR AEON CREDIT PURPLE LEAGUE JUNIOR 2021/2022 CAMPAIGN IN STYLE

KAMPAR (15 JANUARY 2022): Blistering Butterworth BC, Ipoh BC, Ayer Itam BC, and Setia Alam BC started off their AEON Credit Purple League Junior 2021/2022 (ACPLJ) campaign in style as they overpowered their respective opponents on the opening day of the 2nd Leg.

 

The northern badminton powerhouse started their ACPLJ campaign in style as they defeated Falim BC (12-3). Ipoh BC on the other hand overcame Penang Pesta BC (12-5) while Ayer Itam BC beat PGBC (15-3). In the final fixture, Setia Alam BC pulled out all the stops to beat Sungai Pinang BC (12-7) in a heated match which kept everyone in the venue on their toes.

 

The northern badminton powerhouse started their U-15 campaign with a bang as their girls singles Lim Zhi Shin swept aside Falim BC’s Koh Xin En (11-4, 11-3, 11-3) in a match that only lasted 14 minutes.

 

Butterworth BC continued to dominate their opponents in the second game as mixed doubles pair of Ng Wei Ming – Nicole Tan barely broke sweat when they defeated Arnold Dibble – Putri Nurirdina Sufiya (11-3, 11-5, 11-8).

 

In the boys singles, Tan Kean Wei maintained Butterworth’s BC winning streak and bagged the victory against Falim BC’s Diong Xhe Ming (11-3, 11-4, 11-4).

 

However, Falim BC’s pair of Chew Zu Yenn – Yap Chung Chuen stopped Butterworth BC in their tracks when they defeated E. Christopher Nelson – Ong Chin Hang (11-5, 11-5, 11-8) in the boys doubles.

In the final match, Lim Zhi Shin – Nicole Tan kept their cool as they saw off Falim BC’s Koh Xin En – Putri Nurirdina Sufiya (11-2, 11-6, 11-3) in the girls doubles.

 

Butterworth BC’s team manager, Tommy Lee Sau Wah was delighted with his team’s performance today. He said “I am pleased to see the players giving their best today. However, we still have a few games to be played and I hope that we can keep up this momentum”.

 

The ACPLJ will reach its conclusive leg at the Tops Arena Empire in Cheras from Jan 22-23 before the Grand Finals from Feb 19-20. The venue for the final stage has yet to be confirmed.

BOLSTERED BAGAN BC READY FOR THE AEON CREDIT PURPLE LEAGUE JUNIOR 2021/2022

KUALA LUMPUR (13 January 2022): Bagan BC’s top shuttlers are ready for action as they prepare for the second leg of the AEON Credit Purple League Junior 2021/2022 (ACPLJ) scheduled to take place this weekend.

The AEON Credit Purple League Junior 2019 Division 3 Champions will be bolstered by most of the players who competed in the previous edition. With the firepower at hand, they will fancy their chances of booking an early ticket to the grand finale in mid-February.

 

Founded as an academy under the wings of the Penang Indian Badminton Association, Bagan BC are seen as one of the favourites to clinch the 2021/2022 ACPLJ title this year. However, team manager M. Durairajoo has advised his junior players to remain calm and not take their previous accomplishments for granted.

 

  1. Durairajoo said, “We have high expectations of our players for the ACPLJ this year. They have been training exceptionally hard and I can see the desire to replicate their success in 2019. However, they must not take their 2019 success for granted and give their all in the 2021/2022 ACPLJ”

 

Leading the club in the 2021/2022 ACPLJ is K. Yeshveenii, who recently competed in the Top Glove Purple League Pro-Am 2021 (TGPLPA). According to the badminton ace who is no stranger to competitive tournaments, “We have been training vigorously and all the players are ready to give our best this year to deliver points for the team”.

 

The club from the northwest coast will face their neighbours Penang Pesta BC, Setia Alam BC, and Ayer Hitam BC in Group A for the U-18 category.

 

The ACPLJ will be played over 3 group stages and a grand finale from January to February. A total of 38 teams will be divided into groups and will play on a round-robin format during the qualifying stages.

The top 4 teams from each leg will then proceed to play in the grand finale.

As the first leg concluded last week in Malacca, the second leg of the ACPLPJ will commence at the Sixbase Sport Arena, Kampar from Jan 15-16 while the third leg is scheduled at the Tops Arena Empire in Cheras from Jan 22-23 before the Grand Finale from Feb 19-20. The venue for the final stage has yet to be confirmed.

 

AEON CREDIT PURPLE LEAGUE JUNIOR TO RETURN BIGGER AND BETTER WITH MORE TEAMS TAKING PART THIS YEAR

KUALA LUMPUR (6 JANUARY 2022): Aspiring young shuttlers from the country will be strutting their stuff once again in the AEON Credit Purple League Junior 2021/2022 (ACPLJ) badminton championship, which gets underway in Malacca this weekend.

Some of the finest young talents will pit their strength in search of glory with their respective clubs over the course of three weeks beginning with the qualifying stages.

Malaysia Purple League (MPL)’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), Ho Khek Mong is looking forward to see the young aspiring talents showcase their skills in this tournament. He said, “most of the players who are taking part in the ACPLJ are still in secondary school and this will be a great opportunity for them to get a taste of playing in a highly competitive badminton tournament.”

Khek Mong also encouraged all the participating clubs to take advantage of this platform to produce young    talents together with the Malaysia Purple League (MPL) and for the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM).

Being one of the top 38 teams that will be competing in this year’s edition, Seremban City BC’s team manager Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif said his team are all fired-up to clinch the 2021/2022 ACPLJ title. “Our team has been training vigorously for the past two months for this tournament. And with the support of our experienced state players, we are determined to bring home this prestigious ACPLJ title.”

Newcomers Malacca City BC have also sounded an early warning of their aspirations to go far in this tournament.  An upbeat team manager Shahidi Bin Shahidan said his charges are not here to make up the numbers. “We are capable of pulling a surprise in this tournament. I believe with the strength of our homegrown talents; we can progress to the grand-finals.”

The club from the historic city will face WCBF Sibu and Petaling Jaya BC in Group A for the Under-15 category. For the Under-18, they will fancy their chances against Sentosa United BC and DSBC Labuan.

Seremban City BC will face Perling BC and Mentakab BC in Group C for the Under-15 category. For the Under-18, they will spar with JBBC and Damansara BC.

The ACPLJ will be played over 3 group stages and a grand finale from January to February. A total of 38    teams will be divided into groups and will play on a round-robin format during the qualifying stages.

紫盟专业自由人赛落幕后,永旺信贷紫盟青年联赛将紧随上演。首站比赛订于2022年1月8和9日在马六甲举行,次站移师金宝(1月15和16日),第3站落户蕉赖(1月22和23日)。总决赛方面,赛期是2月19和20日,但赛场有待定夺。

BANDAR MAHARANI BC TRIUMPHANT AT THE TOP GLOVE PURPLE LEAGUE PRO-AM 2021 TOURNAMENT

PUTRAJAYA (26 December 2021): Bandar Maharani Badminton Club clinched their inaugural Top Glove Purple League Pro-Am 2021 (TGPLPA) team event title in style at the Kompleks Kejiranan Presint 11 here today.

The Southern club side were in smashing form when they brushed aside fancied Butterworth Badminton Club 9-1 in the final.

 

Heavyweights Butterworth BC failed to live up to their top billing as Bandar Maharani BC made a clean sweep winning all three of their games.

 

Bandar Maharani BC bagged the first win in the mixed doubles when Zachary Sia – Yap Yee defeated Tan Yi Han – Goh Jin Wei (10-11, 11-7, 11-7, 11-7).

 

In the men’s singles, Tai Chuan Zhe extended Bandar Maharani BC’s lead and put pressure on the northern giants when he defeated Samuel Lee (11-7, 11-10, 11-7).

 

Butterworth BC’s fight was all over in the third game when Bandar Maharani BC’s wonder kid Dania Sofea cruised past Isabel Liau in straight sets (11-8, 11-6, 11-10) in the women’s singles hence helping her team bring home the tournament prize money of RM 8,000.

 

The badminton prodigy from Johor was over the moon with her win. She said “I would like to thank Bandar Maharani BC for giving me the opportunity to participate in this prestigious tournament. This victory has raised my spirit and I promise to train vigorously and represent our nation one day.”

 

Bandar Maharani BC’s team manager Eric Chan commended the young talent for her efforts and said “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Malaysia Purple League for organizing this tournament despite the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic. Dania Sofea has been exceptional for our team throughout the tournament as she has contributed the most points for us.”

 

Malaysia Purple League (MPL)’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), Ho Khek Mong who was present at the venue was thrilled to watch the young talents in action and congratulated the finalists. He said, “I would like to thank all the players for giving their best in this tournament.”

 

He added “throughout this tournament, we have seen some of the best young shuttlers in our country displaying signs of maturity well beyond their age. I have confidence that they will go far in their sporting career.”

As the TGPLPA draws its curtains today, badminton fans should not fret. The Aeon Credit Purple League Junior 21/22 (ACPLPJ) will kickstart on Jan 8-9 next year in Malacca, followed by the second leg in Kampar from Jan 15-16, the third leg in Cheras from Jan 22-23 and the Grand Finale from Feb 19-20. The venue for the final stage has yet to be confirmed.

香妃城在率先上演的半决赛,凭藉混双Yap Yee与Zachary Sia以10比11、11比4、11比10和11比7拿下沙登的Boon Xin Yuan与Tan Yan Yi,取得开门红。

 

Tai Chuan Che接着以11比3、11比6、8比11和11-6打败Too Ming Yap,把领先比分扩大为6比2。

 

Tai Chuan Che上一次参加大赛,要追溯至2019年Celcom Axiata马来西亚国际挑战赛。他对自己的表现感到振奋,但依然保持一贯的谦逊和冷静。

 

“很开心为队伍做出了贡献。我已有接近两年没有打高水平的比赛,庆幸的是自己及时找到了感觉和状态,拿下了一场宝贵的胜利。”

 

Tai Chuan Che对主办方为羽运的付出和努力表示激赏。

 

“大马紫盟联赛给了我们这个平台表现自己,我对此除了感激还是感激。”

 

香妃城后起之秀Dania Sofea在激烈无比的女单赛力克Teh Won Quin。Dania Sofea之前已经把2021年永旺信贷紫盟联赛青年赛冠军收入囊中。

 

“这场胜利对我来说有点意外。我要感谢香妃城对我的信任,以及给予我这个难得的比赛机会。”

 

北海在另一边厢,以11比7拿下安邦再也。

 

前大马国手吴堇溦联手Tan Yi Han在混双以11比5、6比11、11比4和11比7打败Lim Tze Jian与Wong Kha Yan,为北海取得好开始。

 

紧接上阵的男单Samuel Lee先衰后盛,以9比11、11比7、11比8和11比7击退Tan Jia Jie,把北海带进晋级边缘。

 

 

 

 

女单Isabel Liau接着以10比11、11比10、10比11、11比6和11-6险胜Erica Hoh,令安邦再也全队的心都冷了。

 

尽管安邦再也的Lau Yi Sheng与Lee Yi Bo在男双以11比8、11比6和11比3轻取Chee Yik Shen与Teh Zi Yi扳回一城;但再次上阵的吴堇溦与Teoh Lexuan在不受太大考验下,以11比6、11比8打败 Tang Wen Xin与Wong Kha Yan,为北海锁定了胜局。

 

Teoh Lexuan赛后说:“我很满意自己的表现,我和堇溦都交出了水准。安邦再也是一个很强劲的对手,而我们在决赛面对的香妃城无疑会更加强大。尽管如此,我们会竭尽全力,争取最后的胜利。”

 

决赛订于周日在布城11区邻里中心上演。
