Roaring LionMas crowned inaugural SPLC champions

KUALA LUMPUR (17 NOVEMBER 2019): The maiden Senheng Purple League Corporate (SPLC2019) season closed its curtains today as LionMas showcased that they can dominate not only in the boardroom but also on the badminton court after claiming a 9-4 victory over Top Glove in the Final at Sports Arena Sentosa.

Earlier in this morning’s semis, LionMas strolled past Team AIG through consecutive 3-0 victories in the Men’s singles, men’s doubles 1 and women’s doubles while Top Glove battled past redPHOENIX 10-7 to progress into the final showdown.

Lee Yew Wah-Ti Kian Kok extended the lead to 6-1 with an epic 11-10, 11-10, 10-11, 11-10 victory over Ismail Saman-James Koh.

LionMas, known for it’s leading chain of household electrical appliances and furniture stores put their stranglehold on the Final proceedings early on when Goh Ting Yu breezed past Top Glove’s Lim Jihn Yih 3-0 (11-5, 11-0, 11-3) in the men’s singles before the men’s doubles pair of Lee Yew Wah-Ti Kian Kok extended the lead to 6-1 with an epic 11-10, 11-10, 10-11, 11-10 victory over Ismail Saman-James Koh.

Top Glove’s Ng Sin Er-Ng Sin Zou then managed to keep the tie alive with an impressive 3-0 (11-7,11-7, 11-7) win over LionMas’ Chua Cheah Lin-Dharshana Haridass only for Lee Zhi Yinn-H’Ng Choon Leng to put the tie beyond Top Glove’s reach moments later with a 3-0 (11-7, 11-4, 11-5) victory over Liaw Suk Quan-Shafiq Mattar in the mixed doubles.

Team Manager of LionMas, Mr Saw Tze Liang expressing his views after the prize giving and closing ceremony of Senheng Purple League Corporate. “We as a team will not be satisfied and rest on this victory as we aim to continue striving to work harder and return next year to defend our title,” added Tze Liang who runs his own badminton academy.

With the unassailable lead, there was no need for the remaining men’s doubles (combined age of 80 & above) to be played as LionMas walked away with a cool RM 50,000 cash prize while Top Glove took home a purse of RM 25,000 for their efforts.

As Champions, LionMas claimed bragging rights along with a playoff spot for a chance to qualify for the next edition of Malaysia’s elite professional badminton league – the Purple League in 2020.

LionMas’ team manager, Saw Tze Liang was in ecstatic mood after he charges’ fine performances in the Final.

He said, “Words cannot express how thrilled I am with this victory. I did not expect our men’s doubles to do what they did with their win over Top Glove’s pair which featured former national player Ismail Saman.”

“We as a team will not be satisfied and rest on this victory as we aim to continue striving to work harder and return next year to defend our title,” added Tze Liang who runs his own badminton academy.

“I hope that through this SPLC platform, many more corporate entities can understand the sport and eventually get more involved with their support and backing. It is also a platform which can provide avenues for retired players to continue their badminton careers,” said Steven during his speech.

In the 3rd and 4th placing decider, redPHOENIX were too strong for Team AIG, earning a convincing 10-4 triumph to pocket RM 15,000 as Team AIG bagged RM 10,000 for finishing fourth.

The prize presentation and closing ceremony was also graced by the presence of Deputy Minister of Youth & Sports, YB Steven Sim Chee Keong who gave away the prizes to the winners and reiterated about the importance of corporate firms’ involvement in sports today.

“I hope that through this SPLC platform, many more corporate entities can understand the sport and eventually get more involved with their support and backing. It is also a platform which can provide avenues for retired players to continue their badminton careers,” said Steven during his speech.

The SPLC2019 which was played over two weekends saw participation from eight top international and local corporate firms namely Pensonic, LionMas, redONE, senQ, OPPO, Top Glove, AEON Credit Service and AIG.

(吉隆坡讯)2019年新兴紫盟商业联赛周日圆满落幕,LionMas在吉隆坡圣淘沙体育馆上演的一场备受瞩目的决赛,以9比4力克Top Glove,勇夺冠军。

LionMas队的Goh Ting Yu上演他在SPLC 2019 决赛的比赛。他在男单比赛中以3-0 (11-5, 11-0, 11-3) 轻取 Top Glove队的Lim Jihn Yih。

LionMas在较早前举行的半决赛,凭藉男单、男双和女双建功,以3比0轻取AIG。Top Glove在另一边厢,以10比7险胜redPHOENIX。

以连锁式经营家电和家俱企业起家的LionMas,在决赛由Goh Ting Yu在男单以3比0(11比5、11比0、11比3)轻取Top Glove的Lim Jihn Yih,先下马威。

男双Lee Yew Wah与Ti Kian Kok接着在一场高潮迭起的比赛,以11比10、11比10、10比11和11比10力克伊斯迈沙末与James Koh,把总比分扩大成6比1。

Lee Yew Wah- Tian Kian Kok以3-1的激战 (11-10, 11-10,10-11,11-10)战胜Ismail Saman/James Koh后把总比分拉开至6-1.

Top Glove没有气馁,凭藉Ng Sin Er与Ng Sin Zou在女双以3比0(11比7、11比7、11比7)拿下Chua Cheah Lin与达萨纳,拉近比分。尽管如此,LionMas始终还是技高一筹,混双Lee Zhi Yinn与H’Ng Choon Leng痛赠Liaw Suk Quan与萨菲克马塔3 – 0(11比7、11比4、11比5),助队提前奠定胜基。

 

在大局已定下,余下的男双比赛也宣告取消.LionMas最终捧走5万令吉奖金,居亚的Top Glove进账2万5000令吉。大热折桂的LionMas,也因此赢得了一张宝贵的附加赛门票──胜出的话将取得2020年紫盟联赛参赛资格。

来自redOne队的前国手兼老球员 Ong Ewe Hock上演他在半决赛的男双比赛。

“全队上下都没有沉醉在胜利的喜悦当中,我们知道未来的路还很长,我们会加倍努力,力保霸业。”

redPHOENIX在季殿军赛以10比4轻取AIG,袋走1万5000令吉奖金。落败的AIG,以1万令吉告慰。亲临现场颁奖和主持闭幕的副青体部长沈志强非常鼓励商界参与体育活动。

“新兴紫盟商业联赛是一个很好的平台。我希望更多的商家了解到体育的重要性,更加积极地投入其中。”

“已经退休的球员,也可在这个平台焕发第二春,以教练或球员身份,延续自己的羽毛球生涯和保持对此运动的热情。”

Skuad LionMas meraikan kejayaan menentang Liga Ungu Korporat (SPLC2019) selepas menerima piala kejohanan dari Timbalan Menteri Belia & Sukan, YB Steven Sim Chee Keong (tengah, baju biru gelap) di Sports Arena Sentosa hari ini.

KUALA LUMPUR (17 NOVEMBER 2019):  LionMas membuktikan mereka bukan saja hebat di arena korporat tetapi juga di gelanggang sukan apabila muncul juara sulung Senheng Purple League Corporate (SPLC) 2019 dengan menundukkan TopGlove 9-4 pada final di Sports Arena Sentosa hari ini.

LionMas bermula garang di final apabila Goh Ting Yu tidak menghadapi masalah mengenepikan cabaran Lim Jihn Yih dari Top Glove, 3-0 (11-5, 11-0, 11-3) dalam perseorangan lelaki.

Gandingan beregu lelaki, Lee Yew Wah-Ti Kian Kok menjadi kunci kepada kejayaan LionMas apabila mengejutkan pasangan yang menampilkan bekas pemain kebangsaan, Ismail Saman dan James Koh, 11-10, 11-10, 10-11, 11-10 untuk menjarakkan pendahuluan mereka kepada 6-1.

Bekas Pemain Nasional, Ong Ewe Hock dari redONE semasa perlawanan lelaki beregu separuh akhir.

Ng Sin Er-Ng Sin Zou menyalakan api perjuangan Top Glove dengan kejayaan 3-0 (11-7,11-7, 11-7) ke atas gandingan LionMas, Chua Cheah Lin-Dharshana Haridass dalam beregu wanita. Namun ia sekadar melambatkan kesudahan jalan cerita apabila Lee Zhi Yinn-H’Ng Choon Leng meletakkan pertembungan ini di luar jangkauan  Top Glove menerusi kemenangan 3-0 (11-7, 11-4, 11-5) ke atas Liaw Suk Quan-Shafiq Mattar dalam beregu campuran.

Dengan jurang mata yang tidak mampu digugat, aksi beregu lelaki (gabungan umur 80 & ke atas) seterusnya tidak perlu dilangsungkan dengan LionMas sah dinobat selaku juara sekaligus menerima habuan wang tunai, RM50,000 manakala Top Glove membawa pulang  RM25,000.

Dalam penentuan tempat ketiga/keempat, redPHOENIX terlalu sukar buat Team AIG, apabila meraih kemenangan menyakinkan 10-4 untuk membawa pulang RM15,000 dengan Team AIG berpuas hati dengan RM10,000.

Temapt ketiga pasukan redONE dan tempat kedua pasukan Top Glove semasa sesi foto kumpulan selepas majlis penutupan.

“Kami teruja kerana berjaya memenangi SPLC yang julung kali diadakan ini. Pada awalnya, kami tidak menyangka bahawa kami mampu mengejutkan barisan yang menampilkan pemain kebangsaan.

“Tetapi itu yang berlaku apabila beregu lelaki kami berjaya mengejutkan gandingan yang menampilkan pemain kebangsaan (Ismail Saman, bekas perseorangan lelaki negara).

“Kami tidak boleh terlalu dibuai-buai dengan kejayaan ini dan perlu meningkatkan usaha kami bagi mengekalkan kejuaraan kami tahun depan,” kata pengurus pasukan, Saw Tze Liang.

Pengurus Pasukan LionMas, Mr Saw Tze Liang menyatakan pandangannya selepas upacara pemberian dan penutup hadiah Korporat Liga Purple Senheng. “Kami sebagai pasukan tidak akan berpuas hati dan menang dalam kemenangan ini kerana kami berhasrat untuk terus berusaha keras dan kembali tahun depan untuk mempertahankan gelaran kami,” tambah Tze Liang yang mengendalikan akademi badmintonnya sendiri.

Hadiah disampaikan Timbalan Menteri Belia dan Sukan, YB Steven Sim Chee Keong yang memuji penganjuran SPLC sebagai platform untuk meneruskan kelangsungan kerjaya seseorang atlit selepas persaraan mereka.

“Liga korporat ini adalah platform terbaik bagi kelangsungan seseorang atlit selepas tamatnya kerjaya mereka.

Pasukan LionMas dalam suasana gembira bersorak untuk rakan sepasukan mereka semasa final.

“Syarikat korporat boleh mengambil mereka sebagai jurulatih atau menyerap mereka sebagai warga kerja. Mereka juga tidak terikat sebagai atlit dan boleh mencuba kerjaya lain menerusi pelbagai bidang yang ditawarkan di institusi pengajian tinggi,” katanya.

Sebagai juara sulung SPLC, LionMas, syarikat pengeluar barangan elektrik terkemuka di negara ini turut meraih slot playoff untuk melayakkan diri ke edisi liga badminton profesional elit tempatan – Purple League 2020.

Terdahulu, pada sesi pagi, LionMas mengalahkan Team AIG menerusi tiga kemenangan 3-0 berturut-turut dalam perseorangan lelaki, beregu lelaki pertama dan beregu wanita untuk menempah tiket mereka ke perlawanan akhir manakala Top Glove membenam redPHOENIX 10-7.

Lapan badan korporat tempatan dan antarabangsa mengambil bahagian dalam kejohanan yang julung kali diadakan ini iaitu Pensonic, LionMas, redONE (redPHOENIX), senQ, OPPO, Top Glove, AEON Credit Service dan AIG.

SPLC2019: LionMas ready to maul the opposition

KUALA LUMPUR (14 NOVEMBER 2019): The opening leg of the inaugural Senheng Purple League Corporate (SPLC) 2019 held at the Sports Arena Sentosa last weekend delivered on all fronts as fans were treated to a spectacular “badmintainment” experience.

LionMas’ squad for the SPLC2019 which will be looking to challenge for the title this weekend at Sports Arena Sentosa.

Not many would have expected that a group of corporate bigwigs and social players could mix it up with former national and state players, but the proof was there for all to see last weekend as Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) putting rank and status aside, played side by side with their subordinates in search of glory for their respective organisations.

Brought to the public by the team who introduced the Purple League and Purple League Junior, this event aims to promote a healthier lifestyle and also act as a platform for the corporate firms to  indulge in a healthy dose of competitive badminton.

One of the teams that stood out at the end of the first two days of competition and currently leading Group A is team LionMas. Established in 1993, the LionMas company is one of the leading chain of stores dealing in household electrical appliances and furniture as its core business.

On route to heading Group A, LionMas managed to notch 22 points (games won) with back-to-back victories over redPHOENIX and PENSONIC with matching 11-6 scores. Following close behind is PENSONIC with 15 points.

With the prospect of progressing to the semi-finals scheduled for Sunday morning, LionMas team manager Saw Tze Liang is happy with the performance of his players and remains hopeful they can keep the winning momentum going. “It was a great weekend for us in the first leg of the SPLC2019,” he said.

“We managed to secure two consecutive wins, so congratulations to all the players. I hope we can keep our winning ways going for our remaining group matches and perhaps secure a spot in the semi-finals.”

LionMas team manager Saw Tze Liang is happy with the performance of his players and remains hopeful they can keep the winning momentum going.

When asked about the team’s preparation for the upcoming fixtures, Saw, who is also running his own badminton academy in Johor admitted that there were certain areas where the team needs to be fine-tuned.

Managing Director of AEON Credit Service, Yuro Kisaka, giving his full support to the team throughout the tournament period.

“During the first leg, I had identified several weaknesses that we need to eradicate. We need to minimise simple mistakes and stick to our game plan especially when facing experienced opponents. Overall, I think we are in a strong position especially in the men’s and mixed doubles since we have been training consistently at least twice a week,” added Saw.

In Group B, Top Glove and Team AIG dominate with both collecting 22 points and look ready to advance to the semis despite both teams having to face-off in the final group tie on Saturday.

The SPLC2019 continues this weekend at Sports Arena Sentosa where the last group ties will be played on Saturday before the semi-finals on Sunday where the top two teams of Group A and Group B will face each other with the winners advancing to the final later on the same day to claim bragging rights.

LionMas团队将在这个周末位于吉隆坡圣淘沙体育馆举办的SPLC2019发起冠军的挑战。

(吉隆坡讯)第一届新兴紫盟商业联赛上周末在吉隆坡圣淘沙体育馆火热挥拍,反应一如所料地热烈。

LionMas球员Jazz Tan Yee Mei和搭档Goh Ting Yu在对垒Pensonic的混双战取得胜利。

脱下工作服的专业人士,在球场上挥汗如雨,英姿凛凛。事实证明,他们都很享受比赛所带来的乐趣。

大马紫盟联赛创办新兴紫盟商业联赛的目的,就是为了让忙碌的上班族,也享有健康的生活。

在A组领头的LionMas,在前两天的比赛日交出了亮眼的表现。在1993年成立的LionMas,以售卖家电和家俱起家。

LionMas先后以11比6比分拿下了redPHOENIX和PENSONIC,目前有22分(胜局)在手。PENSONIC以15分居次。

本身在柔佛开设羽毛球学院的Saw Tze Liang认为,本队还有很大的提升空间。

Pensonic的老球员证明在羽球项目是不会被年龄限制表现。

“我们拿下了二连胜,这得感谢所有努力付出的队员。我们的最低目标,是打进半决赛。”

本身在柔佛开设羽毛球学院的Saw Tze Liang认为,本队还有很大的提升空间。

“我看到了一些问题。我们必须减少失误,并且要坚持战术理念,因为未来的对手只会更有经验,以及更难对付。”

“我们每周训练至少两次,准备功夫做得很足。男双和混双日愈成熟的表现,也给了我很大的信心。”

Top Glove的创办人, Tan Sri Dr.Lim Wee Chai 非常愉快的参与比赛。今日在对垒Oppo时他与 Muhd Mubin Shafiq Mattar出战男双。

B组方面,Top Glove和AIG皆得22分,相信可联手杀进四强。两队周六狭路相逢,争夺小组头名。

两组的前二名跻身半决赛。冠军队伍将得到一张附加赛门票──胜出的话将取得2020年紫盟联赛参赛资格。

半决赛和决赛订于本月17日在吉隆坡圣淘沙体育馆上演。

KUALA LUMPUR (14 NOVEMBER 2019): Pusingan awal kejohanan Senheng Purple League Corporate (SPLC) 2019 yang berlangsung di Sports Arena Sentosa minggu lalu telah menghadirkan satu pengalaman baharu khususnya buat para peminat yang hadir apabila disajikan dengan aksi “badmintainment” tanpa henti.

Skuad LionMas akan bertarung sampai akhir untuk menjadi Juara SPLC 2019 pada minggu ini di Sports Arena Sentosa.

Ramai yang tidak menyangka bahawa golongan korporat dan pemain sosial dapat beraksi dengan baik bersama dengan bekas pemain kebangsaan apabila mereka mengenepikan pangkat dan gelaran mereka untuk bertarung di atas gelanggang bagi merebut gelaran sebagai juara keseluruhan.

Pertandingan yang diperkenalkan oleh Malaysia Purple League ini adalah bertujuan untuk memupuk gaya hidup sihat selain menyediakan satu platform terbaik untuk mereka bermandi peluh melalui pertandingan badminton seperti ini.

Antara pasukan yang mencuri tumpuan pada minggu lalu ialah LionMas yang kini mendahului carta Kumpulan A. Syarikat yang ditubuhkan pada tahun 1993 itu cukup sinonim dengan perniagaan barangan elektrik dan perabot serta kelengkapan rumah yang lain.

Pemain beregu campuran dari LionMas, Jazz Tan Yee Mei, dengan Goh Ting Yu telah menang kategori beregu campuran menandingi PENSONIC.

Sebagai pendahulu, mereka berjaya meraih 22 mata selepas menumpaskan redPHOENIX dan PENSONIC masing-masing dengan 11-6. PENSONIC juga kini mengekori di belakang LionMas dengan 15 mata.

Pengurus pasukan LionMas, Encik Saw Tze Liang dalam sesi temuduga SPLC 2019. “Persembahan pemain sangat menakjubkan pada pusingan awal SPLC2019 dan kita berjaya mencatat dua kemenangan berturut-turut.”

Menurut pengurus pasukan LionMas, Saw Tze Liang, dia amat gembira dengan persembahan para pemain dan berharap momentum ini akan diteruskan memandangkan LionMas berpeluang cerah untuk beraksi di separuh akhir pada hari Ahad ini. Dia berkata, “Persembahan pemain sangat menakjubkan pada pusingan awal SPLC2019 dan kita berjaya mencatat dua kemenangan berturut-turut. Saya ucapkan tahniah kepada para pemain di atas usaha mereka dan saya berharap kita dapat mengekalkan momentum ini untuk mencipta peluang untuk memburu slot ke separuh akhir.”

Dari kanan, bekas pemain kebangsaan, Tan Jinn Hwa, mewakili pasukan AIG dalam kategori beregu lelaki.

Ketika ditanya mengenai persiapan pasukannya untuk menharungi baki perlawanan pada hujung minggu ini, Saw yang juga mengendalikan akademi badmintonnya sendiri di Johor mengakui terdapat beberapa elemen yang perlu diperbaiki.

“Selepas pusingan pertama, terdapat beberapa kelemahan yang perlu kami perbaiki. Kita perlu mengelak daripada melakukan kesilapan mudah dan para pemain perlu kekal fokus lebih-lebih lagi apabila berdepan dengan lawan yang lebih berpengalaman. Secara keseluruhan, saya yakin kita di dalam kedudukan terbaik terutamanya bagi beregu lelaki dan campuran kerana kami sedang giat menjalani latihan untuk mengukuhkan lagi permainan kami,” tambah Saw.

Saingan kumpulan B pula menyaksikan pasukan Top Glove dan AIG yang berkongsi 22 mata dan bakal mara ke separuh akhir meskipun bakal berdepan sesama sendiri pada perlawanan terakhir kumpulan pada Sabtu ini.

Pengarah Urusan AEON Credit Service, Yuro Kisaka, memberikan sokongan penuh kepada pasukan sepanjang tempoh kejohanan.

KUALA LUMPUR (10 NOVEMBER 2019): Saingan Senheng Purple League Korporat (SPLC) membuka tirai hujung minggu ini di Sports Arena Sentosa dengan Top Glove memperagakan taring mereka untuk muncul sebagai pendahulu awal Kumpulan B.
Pada akhir saingan dua hari itu, pengeluar sarung tangan getah terkemuka dunia itu, mencatatkan dua kemenangan, 9-6 ke atas AEON Credit Service semalam dan 13-5 ketika berdepan OPPO hari ini.

Top Glove bermula garang apabila Pengurus Kanan (Sumber Manusia), Lim Jin Feng menundukkan Tan Chun Beng 11-2, 11-5, 11-5 dalam perseorangan lelaki sebelum beregu wanita, Ang Chin Wen-Daphne Ng Chew Yen melebarkan jurang selepas merakamkan kemenangan 11-2, 11-1, 11-1 ke atas  Hee Chei Teng-Low Mei Chen.

Pemain Veteran dari Pensonic, membuktikan bahawa sesiapa sahaja, tidak kira tua atau muda, boleh bermain badminton sebagai sukan nombor satu di Malaysia.
Pengerusi dan Pengasas Top Glove, Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai, turut menyertai Senheng Purple League Corporate dalam kategori Lelaki Beregu. Pasangan beliau ialah Muhd Mubin Shafiq.

Chia Su Li-Lee Pui Min kemudian meneruskan dominasi Top Glove dalam beregu campuran dengan kejayaan 11-1, 11-6, 11-5 ke atas  Chaw Shih Mei-Chan Jia Wei bagi pendahuluan mutlak 9-0 disusuli dengan kebangkitan yang dicipta bekas pemain kebangsaan, Ismail Saman yang digandingkan bersama Leo Kwok Xiong berjaya menundukkan beregu lelaki OPPO, Foong Kok Wah-Kow Jian Foong 3-2 (11-8, 11-5, 5-11, 9-11, 11-9).

Tatkala kemenangan sudah disahkan, Pengerusi Eksekutif dan Pengasas, Tan Sri Dr. Lim Wee Chai mencuri tumpuan apabila membuktikan bakatnya masih tidak  dimamah usia menerusi gandingannya bersama Muhd Mubin Shafiq Mattar dalam beregu lelaki 2 (gabungan usia 80 & ke atas) meskipun tewas 1-3 kepada pasangan OPPO, Chick Choon Fai-Chick Choon Meng.

“Sebelum saingan bermula, kami mensasarkan untuk muncul dua pasukan teratas kumpulan, tetapi alang-alang bila kami sudah berada di kedudukan ini, saya rasa kami seharusnya mensasarkan untuk menjuarai kejohanan ini,” kata pengurus pasukan, Howard Wee.

Jazz Tan Yee Mei, pemain dari LionMas dengan pasangan Goh Ting Yu, berjaya menandingi Pensonic dalam kategori beregu campuran.

“Pasukan ini dibarisi oleh staf kami yang terdiri daripada bekas pemain kebangsaan, negeri dan daerah.

“Tan Sri (Dr Lim) sendiri adalah pemain daerah. Kami sudah melakukan persiapan terbaik bagi menghadapi kejohanan ini. Kami bermain bersama-sama dua kali seminggu dan tiada keperluan untuk kami membawa pemain luar bagi menghadapi kejohanan ini,” tambahnya.

Terdahulu dalam Kumpulan A, LionMas menamatkan hari dengan dua kemenangan daripada dua selepas menundukkan Pensonic 11-2 untuk meletakkan satu kaki dalam pusingan separuh akhir selepas kejayaan 11-6 ke atas redPHOENIX semalam. Mereka mendahului saingan dengan 22 mata kemenangan. Pasukan di kedudukan kedua dan ketiga kumpulan disandang masing-masing Pensonic dan redPHOENIX dengan kedua-dua pasukan berkongsi jumlah mata sama diikuti rapat oleh  senQ di tempat keempat, dipisahkan dengan satu mata.

Format pertandingan menyaksikan dua pasukan teratas Kumpulan A & B akan mara ke separuh akhir, sekaligus menghampiri tiket playoff bagi melayakkan diri ke saingan sebenar liga elit profesional Malaysia – Purple League 2020.

Perlawanan pusingan round-robin SPLC2019 akan menemui pengakhirannya Sabtu depan (16 Nov) untuk menentukan barisan empat pasukan yang akan bersaing dalam separuh akhir sebelum pusingan empat terakhir dan final yang akan dilangsungkan pada Ahad (17 Nov) di Sports Arena Sentosa yang akan menyaksikan juara dinobatkan bagi edisi sulung SPLC.

 (吉隆坡讯)工作的压力和生活的逼人,已经逐渐让人忘记了何谓“工作与生活平衡”。其中一个减压的方法,就是运动。但要找到合适的管道,有时也并非想像中容易和方便。

为了让忙碌的上班族也享有健康的生活,大马紫盟联赛再次推陈出新,创办新兴紫盟商业联赛。

今日位于吉隆玻圣淘沙体育馆的SPLC2019赛事里,Top Glove 在男双合计年龄80派出前国手Ismail Saman与Leo Kwok Xiong 以3-2打败Oppo男双合计年龄80的Foong Kok Wah与Kow Jian Foong (11-8, 11-5, 5-11, 9-11, 11-9) 。

首届新兴紫盟商业联赛本周末拉开序幕,平时在办公室辛勤工作的上班族,将可在球场上尽情发挥,与业余和半职业选手一决高低。

8家外国和本地企业,将分在两个小组比赛。A组的4队是Pensonic、LionMas、redONE和senQ。B组由OPPO、Top Glove、永旺信贷和AIG组成。

两组的前二名跻身半决赛。冠军队伍将得到一张附加赛门票──胜出的话将取得2020年紫盟联赛参赛资格。

每一场比赛采取5场制,即男单、男双(公开)、男双(年龄合计80岁或以上)、女双和混双。一如既往,比赛采5局3胜11分制。

紫盟联赛总执行长拿督许少原披露,创办紫盟商业联赛,主要是为了回馈一向来对大马紫盟联赛支持有加的赞助商,同时让他们体验一个有规模和充满竞争力的比赛氛围。

“过去6年,我们致力于培育大马羽球新苗,并让紫盟联赛变得更有娱乐性和竞争力。我很高兴地说,无论是政府还是私人界,都给予了很积极的响应。”

“紫盟商业联赛是我们给予赞助商的小小回馈。希望通过紫盟商业联赛,大家会和羽毛球运动走得更近。”

代表redONE Mobile出战的教练王友福在对垒senQ女双的中途休息时给与Erica Khoo和Peeraya Munkitamorn一些指导。

为了增添星光,数支参赛队都积极拉拢前国手和州手助阵,其中包括redONE的关明鸿和王友福、Top Glove的伊斯迈沙末、Daphne Ng和Tiffany Chase,以及senQ的Yap Zhen、Kuan Kum Chung和桑纳塔莎。

小组赛订于11月9、10和16日挥拍。半决赛和决赛订于11月17日在吉隆坡圣淘沙体育馆上演。

KUALA LUMPUR (10 NOVEMBER 2019): The inaugural Senheng Purple League Corporate (SPLC) season kicked off over the weekend at Sports Arena Sentosa with plenty of spills and thrills, providing fantastic entertainment to all those in attendance including families and fellow colleagues.

At the end of the first two matchdays, Top Glove have emerged as the early pacesetters after notching two consecutive wins, firstly 9-6 against AEON Credit Service on Saturday and 13-5 when they faced OPPO today.

Known for being a leading rubber gloves manufacturer, Top Glove impressed early on today by racing to a 9-0 lead against OPPO thanks to straight sets wins in the men’s singles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles respectively.

Top Glove’s Executive Chairman and Founder, Tan Sri Dr. Lim Wee Chai joined in the fun when he teamed up with Muhd Mubin Shafiq Mattar in the men’s doubles 2 during the tie against OPPO at Sports Arena Sentosa earlier today.

Top Glove’s Senior Manager (Human Resources), Mr. Lim Jin Feng turned up in the men’s singles to beat OPPO’s Tan Chun Beng 11-2, 11-5, 11-5 before their women’s doubles pair of Ang Chin Wen-Daphne Ng Chew Yen extended the lead after recording a convincing 11-2, 11-1, 11-1 win over Hee Chei Teng-Low Mei Chen.

Chia Su Li-Lee Pui Min then continued Top Glove’s domination in the mixed doubles with a 11-1, 11-6, 11-5 win over OPPO’s Chaw Shih Mei-Chan Jia Wei for an unassailable lead before former national player, Ismail Saman paired with Leo Kwok Xiong to edge OPPO’s men’s doubles duo, Foong Kok Wah-Kow Jian Foong 3-2 (11-8, 11-5, 5-11, 9-11, 11-9).

With the tie secured, Top Glove’s Executive Chairman and Founder, Tan Sri Dr. Lim Wee Chai joined in the fun when he teamed up with Muhd Mubin Shafiq Mattar in the men’s doubles 2 (combined age of 80 & above) although going down 1-3 to OPPO’s pair of Chick Choon Fai-Chick Choon Meng.

Top Glove’s team manager, Howard Wee Hiong Ching said after today’s victory, “Although we only targeted to be the best two in the group initially, results so far have been very convincing and is enough to make us believe that we can challenge for the title.”

Howard added, “Our team consists mainly of our staff which coincidently include a few former national, state and district players. Even our Executive Chairman, Tan Sri Dr. Lim used to be a former district player hence the commitment and passion our company has for this sport. We have been preparing for this tournament with training sessions twice a week on a consistent basis.”

Team AIG joins Top Glove at the top of Group B, collecting 22 points (game wins) as well after their 9-7 victory over AEON Credit Service to set up a top of the table clash in the next round of ties.

In group A earlier today, LionMas also made it two wins out of two after defeating Pensonic 11-2 to close in for a semis spot following yesterday’s 11-6 victory over redPHOENIX. They lead the standings with 22 points. The second and third spot in the group currently belongs to Pensonic and redPHOENIX respectively with both teams sharing the same points and followed closely by senQ in fourth, trailing by only a point.

The top 2 teams of each group will qualify for the semi-finals and ultimately seal a berth to contest the Final showdown towards claiming bragging rights and a playoff spot for a chance to qualify for the next edition of Malaysia’s elite professional badminton league – the Purple League in 2020.

The round-robin ties of the SPLC2019 comes to an end next Saturday (16 Nov) to determine the final four before the semis and final take place on Sunday (17 Nov) at Sports Arena Sentosa where the inaugural Champions of this landmark edition will be crowned.

KUALA LUMPUR (7 NOVEMBER 2019): Sejak kebelakangan ini, work-life balance (Imbangan Kehidupan Bekerja) seakan sukar untuk dicapai oleh para pekerja yang berdepan dengan tekanan di pejabat. Salah satu cara bagi mengelakkan diri daripada menghadapi tekanan adalah dengan menjalankan aktiviti sukan dan kecergasan meskipun sukar untuk melakukannya berikutan faktor masa, tempat dan sebagainya.

Lapan badan korporat tempatan dan antarabangsa mengambil bahagian di dalam pertandingan ini antaranya Pensonic, LionMas, redONE, dan senQ yang berada di dalam kumpulan A sementara OPPO, Top Glove, AEON Credit Service dan AIG akan berentap sesama mereka di dalam kumpulan B.

2 pasukan teratas bagi setiap kumpulan akan mara ke pusingan separuh akhir bagi merebut slot pusingan akhir sekaligus berpeluang beraksi di pusingan playoff untuk melayakkan diri ke saingan liga badminton yang terulung di Malaysia – Purple League 2020.

Setiap pusingan akan membabitkan 5 perlawanan untuk kategori perseorangan lelaki (terbuka), beregu lelaki, beregu lelaki (gabungan umur yang melebihi 80 tahun dan keatas), beregu wanita, dan beregu campuran dimana setiap pasukan akan berebut untuk memenangi lima daripada 11 mata dalam setiap kategori.

Sementara itu, Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Malaysia Purple League (MPL), Dato’ Jack Koh menjelaskan insipirasi disebalik penganjuran kejohanan seperti ini adalah untuk menyediakan satu platform kepada para penaja untuk merasai sendiri pengalaman bermain dalam liga kompetitif seperti liga badminton profesional yang lain.

Beliau berkata, “Setelah lebih enam tahun kami bergerak secara aktif untuk membangunkan sukan badminton serta mengambil beberapa langkah inovatif untuk memastikan ianya lebih berdaya saing khususnya bagi peminat setia Purple League, saya ingin menyatakan yang terdapat juga permintaan dari sektor kerajaan mahupun swasta yang turut sama berminat serta menyokong usaha yang telah kami jalankan.”

Jurulatih Petaling BC, Encik Ismail Saman akan bertanding di Senheng Purple League Corporate 2019, mewakili pasukan TOP GLOVE, di Sports Arena Sentosa.

“Sebagai salah satu langkah untuk menghargai segala usaha serta sokongan yang diberikan oleh penaja-penaja kami, Purple League Corporate ini akan menjadi sebuah platform bagi syarikat-syarikat ini untuk merasai sendiri suasana serta membuka peluang kepada mereka untuk lebih dekat lagi dengan sukan badminton.” tambah Dato’ Jack.

Untuk rekod, beberapa nama besar dalam sukan badminton akan turut sama-sama menyertai kejohanan Purple League Corporate yang julung kali diadakan. Antaranya ialah bekas pemain negara Kuang Beng Hong dan Ong Ewe Hock akan mewakili redOne; Ismail Saman, Daphne Ng dan Tiffany Chase wakil untuk pasukan Top Glove; manakala Yap Zhen, Kuan Kam Chung dan Sannatasah Saniru akan bermain untuk pasukan senQ.

Musim pertama kejohanan SPLC ini akan dijalankan selama dua minggu secara round-robin dan akan bermula pada 9, 10, dan 16 November sebelum pusingan separuh akhir dan akhir yang dijadualkan pada 17 November 2019 di Sports Arena, Sentosa.

About Malaysia Purple League

Founded by Dato’ Jack Koh and partners and incorporated on October 24, 2013, Purple League (M) Sdn. Bhd. aims to create a brand-new platform in support of the Malaysian badminton scene while raising the standard of badminton proficiency and contributing towards creating future champions for the country.

Standing at the forecourt of all endeavours is the Malaysia Purple League, thus named due to purple long being a symbolic colour associated with royalty, power, and courage. It’s an initiative that provides players of all levels, both professionals and amateurs, with an opportunity to gain invaluable competitive experience, and which concurrently engages retired national greats to guide and inspire a new generation of champions.
